Everything you wanted to know about your Bentley Arnage dashboard warning lights, but didn’t know how to ask…
I’ve put together this comprehensive list of possible warning messages and notifications that may appear in the message center portion of the 2004 Bentley Arnage. This list will not apply to every Arnage model year as changes have occurred throughout the years. Specifically, these examples are from the 2004 Bentley Arnage T model. They will likely be the same for 2002, 2003, and 2004 model years. Check the owner’s manual for warning lights or messages that are not included below.
This page will be continuously updated as owners share their experiences when these dash lights appear. Details and descriptions will be added over time.
The following warning lights are addressed:

Engine Coolant
Description: Text “ENGINE COOLANT”
Color: Red
The engine coolant reservoir is low on anti-freeze. Check the level of the coolant under the hood and add more coolant to the proper level.
The Engine Coolant warning was one of the first unexpected warning lights I experienced in my ownership of the Arnage. I brought my car to an independent Bentley specialist to have the car looked over for leaks or other potential problems with the car’s cooling system. I recommend the same course of action, especially if the warning light is persistent.
The aluminum engine requires the blue antifreeze. Using the wrong type of coolant can cause a chemical reaction with engine components causing a premature, and costly failure. For more information about the coolant/antifreeze used, check out my article: What Coolant Should I Use For a 2004 Bentley Arnage T?

Fuel Low
Description: Graphic of fuel pump / petrol pump

The fuel level is low. This will be one of the most common warnings you will see on the Bentley Arnage as the gas mileage of the 6.75 liter engine leaves much to be desired. However, this car was not intended to be fuel efficient… so just enjoy the ride.

The hood is not being detected to be closed. Check to make sure the hood (bonnet) is fully closed.

Sport
Description: Text “SPORT”
Color: Orange
The vehicle is in Sport mode. The Sport mode button is located on the center console next to the gear selector. Not all Arnage models will be equipped with this option. Check your owner’s manual for more details.
When activated, Sport mode changes the shifting points of the Bentley Arnage. The result is a more aggressive driving setting. Turning the Sport mode on and off will also result in a single tone from the dashboard.
Stop Lamp
Description: Text “STOP LAMP”
Color: Red
Trunk Open
Description: Text “TRUNK OPEN”
Color: Orange
The trunk is not being detected to be closed. Check to make sure the trunk (boot) is fully closed. Make sure the self-closing mechanism has activated.
Related: Does your trunk need it’s struts replaced? If your boot lid is not staying up when you fully open the trunk, it is likely time to replace the trunk struts. The Arnage has 4 struts that will need to be replaced. Check out the full tutorial for replacing your trunk struts on the Arnage.
Turbo
Description: Text “TURBO” with turbocharger graphic
Color: Red
Washer Fluid
Description: Text “WASHER FLUID”
Color: Orange
This warning light is not a major issue and rather self-explanatory. The washer fluid level is low. Add washer fluid to the washer fluid reservoir located under the hood (bonnet).
I’m stuck . My 2001 has a charging problem. Voltage gauge slowly goes to zero while driving.
Changed Alternator.. no change.
Replaced Regulator inside Alternator..no change.
