This past weekend I test drove the 2009 Nissan Maxima and I’ve come to the conclusion that this is the car for me. The Maxima receives the highly coveted Josh’s World Seal of Approval, an honor reserved for only the best of the best. Now, time to start saving.
What happens in Vegas… hopefully won’t be reported to my insurance company. My bachelor party was last weekend. I was looking forward to renting some sports cars with my brother and my cousin. Jeph got a Viper SRT10, JR got a Lotus Elise, and I had a Porsche 911 Carrera. It was a lot of fun until I brought the car back to the rental place and they started writing up a damage report. Apparently, the valet at the Mirage let Rookie McGee drive the Porsche. It had been backed into another vehicle. Good times.
Hey, I’ve lowered the Maxima last Sunday! I love it. It looks so much better. The car used to ride in the clouds. I bought some H&R Sport Lowering Springs from the Tire Rack. Some guys from DNE (Dallas Nissan Enthusiasts) helped me install them. When I say “helped” I mean they installed them as I watched. I’ve always wanted to lower the car, but was too afraid. Finally, after years of internal struggle, I decided to do it. You gotta take risks people!
I got a speeding ticket this week. On top of that, I didn’t have a valid insurance card. I only got a ticket for the speeding. Luckily, Officer Rookie didn’t notice the expired inspection sticker. Now I have to take a defensive driving course. I am going to try to make the experience as fun as possible. At the end of the class, I am going to pass out surveys and have everybody vote for class clown, best dressed, most likely to succeed, and the coveted Mr. and Ms. Defensive Driver… or maybe I’ll just do the Defensive Driving Video rental. I’ll cook dinner for Keely and make a date of it. Of course I won’t tell her it’s a defensive driving video.
I finally got my car back, after over a month of rentals and bumming rides from friends. Total cost of repairs: $6844.03.

Well kids, I have a new car! That’s right, a new car for Josh. I would like for all of you to meet my 1997 Nissan Maxima SE. It seems the old Probe was getting lazy on me, it was time for something new. Where did I get it you ask? Well, in true Josh style: eBay of course. The car is great. I will post some pictures as soon as possible. I suppose I will have to update The Car page… I will get around to that later. For now, let’s all just bask in the glory and splendor that is- The Maxima!
