Happy Holidays

Sunday, December 10th, 2006

My life is ever changing.  Let me tell you about a couple of new things in my life.  First of all, we said good bye to the Maxima last month.  She was a good friend, but she became a little high-maintenance, so I let her go.   I traded her in for a 2003 Acura TL Type-S.  I like it very much.  Pictures soon to come.

Josh’s World Overhaul

Monday, October 30th, 2006

Hey Everybody, Josh’s World is getting an extreme makeover.  I just want to thank ABC and Sears for all the bla bla bla…  But seriously, I am switching to WordPress because it has so many built in features that will make maintaining this site much easier.  You can look forward to updated photos, the ability to leave comments, and other cool stuff.  There are some layout issues that I am still working on, but I should have everything working smootly soon.

Sorry So Late

Wednesday, October 4th, 2006

Hi everybody! Well, it’s been 6 months exactly since my last post. I wanted to take things easy this summer and just do nothing, so that’s what I did. I did some stuff though. Keely and I did go to Florida, that was fun… and we also went to Door County Wisconsin too for the 4th of July. Let’s see, I turned 29- that was nice. I paid off the Maxima, that was around April or May. Umm let’s see, what else? Oh, Keely and I bought a house, so that’s pretty special. Oh- and the new ULINE catalog came in! So all and all, it was a pretty low-key summer. Toodles.

The UPS Guy

Wednesday, March 29th, 2006

You know what I get overly-excited about? The UPS truck. Many of you folks that leave home everyday may not know this joy because you’re gone during his visits. No, this is a joy experienced primarily by stay-at-home moms, folks that work at home, and the unemployed. There is just something about the sound of the noisy diesel, the squeaky brakes, and the fact that some cool product is being delivered to me. A product that is so wonderful, you couldn’t buy it locally (for a reasonable price) no, you had to venture online. So to my freindly local UPS driver, I say, God speed Santa Claus of the day… God speed.

New Laptop

Thursday, March 23rd, 2006

Notice anything different about me. Yep, I’m typing on my new laptop. Oh what an exciting day for me! I am watching Emeril Live and typing on the laptop, I feel like the comic book guy on The Simpsons. I think I will watch The Simpsons next. I would like to take this time to tell you about our DVR. We have ReplayTV, which in my opinion is far superior to Tivo. If you don’t have a DVR, get one. There is something about skipping commercials that represents everything I stand for. That is all. Seacrest- out.

Don’t Make Me Angry

Thursday, March 16th, 2006

Something I want to get off my chest: There are two expressions that annoy me like nothing else; two expressions that you will never hear me say (unless I am making fun of somebody that uses them). These phrases are typically used when expressing an opinion about something. Don’t get me wrong, everybody is entitled to their opinion, but when people express themselves with the following phrases, I think it makes them look dumb. So without further ado, the expressions: The first expression is “genius.” For example, “He’s genius” or “That movie is genius.” That bothers me so much. If you disagree with a person that thinks something is genius, then you must not be on the same level as them, intellectually. It seems so condescending. It’s a way to build yourself up for complimenting something (as if you are the authority on what is genius). The fools on every VH1 show say this a lot. The other expression is on the opposite side of the spectrum (sort of). And that is when people say a person, a group of people, or a skill is “talentless.” Again, the user of this expression elevates him/herself to the level or talent extraordinaire. Now I know what you are thinking, “Josh, aren’t you being judgemental and just as ingorant as the users of expressions like ‘genius’ and ‘talentless’?” And the short answer to that is, yes. But here’s the bottom line: express yourself freely and choose your words carefully or I will make fun of you later.

First Post ‘06

Thursday, January 26th, 2006

Well here we are, 26 days into 2006 and I am just now writing my first post for the year. I guess I’ve just been busy. I know I use that excuse all the time, but this time I mean it. Look, you don’t understand- I’m married now, I have lots of responsibilities. It’s hard for me to find time to write now. It’s not that I don’t love you, I just need time to readjust. bla bla bla… I obviously have nothing important to say. Sorry for wasting your time. My next post will contain some sort of meaningful content.
